11 Pat McAfee Made Little Impact

Pat McAfee got a big surprise pop at the start of the night when he made his surprise return to join the commentary team. However, he was also added to the men's Royal Rumble match later that night, which proved to be the most forgettable surprise entrant of the night.

McAfee jumped in the ring, was instantly scared by who was inside of it, and then opted to jump back out and not wrestle at all. It was a wasted spot that wasn't worthwhile at all, which was a shame to see.

Sami Zayn has been taking a little time off recently due to being banged up, and it worked well in enhancing his storyline with Drew McIntyre who caused his problems in the storyline. His return at the end of the men's Royal Rumble match certainly got a big pop, and it added some star power to the finish of the match.

Zayn didn't do too much of note inside the match, but he certainly got plenty of attention from the audience, which is always a good thing for the end of a Rumble.

Stratton managed to impress with her athleticism and didn't look out of place at any point throughout the match. It was a bright debut and a clear sign that she's got a bright future with the company.

For the second year in a row, Liv Morgan finished as the runner-up in the Royal Rumble, only this year she was a surprise entrant in the match getting the coveted #30 spot. Morgan has been on the sidelines for a while due to injury, and seeing her return to the ring was a big deal.

Fans have been patiently waiting for the debut of Jade Cargill from the moment she signed with the company, but holding off until this point was the right call. She got a monstrous reaction, and her work with Nia Jax was an impressive showing of her strength.

WWE wasted no time with this surprise, bringing her out as the second entrant in the women's Rumble, and it led to an amazing reaction. Naomi walked out on WWE alongside Sasha Banks, and since then she put together a great run with TNA Wrestling, but seeing her back was something audiences loved.

Naomi got a huge response that made her seem like a huge star, and her performance matched that. The fact she was in the ring for over an hour helped to make this feel special, with the WWE Universe buying into all of it.
