On the March 18 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, during the opening segment between Jey and Jimmy Uso, commentator Michael Cole revealed that their WrestleMania match will be the third brother vs bout on the Grandest Stage of Them All, with Cole mentioning Bret Hart vs Owen Hart and Jeff Hardy vs Matt Hardy being the other two. For WWE to mention the Hardys when they're in AEW was a big deal, and it was maybe a bigger deal because Matt Hardy was there, sitting at the arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, the home state of the Hardys.

Matt's wife, Reby, posted a video to Instagram showing her and Matt sitting in the PC Arena skybox.

While this could just be a wrestler who is also a fan attending a show, Matt Hardy is in an interesting situation at the moment as he has confirmed that his AEW contract runs out this month. In the latest episode of his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, he said he had nothing new to report, and that:

Matt and Jeff Hardy have both been outspoken on their podcast in recent months about the disappointment of their booking in AEW. The brothers are often relegated to shows like Rampage when they're even used at all. So was Hardy's attendance at Raw a sign of what he wants to do next? It's not exactly big news that Hardy was there, as Bayley and Naomi were recently in the stands at AEW Dynamite to support the debut of Mercedes Mone. The big difference is that they weren't taking videos of themselves at Dynamite, and we know they're not going anywhere, as Naomi just returned to WWE and Bayley won the Women's Royal Rumble and has a huge match against WWE Women's Champion Iyo Sky at WrestleMania 40. Hardy's situation is different because he did take video of himself at a rival company and isn't on secure ground with his current one. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said:

"Matt Hardy was at Raw with his wife and they posted a video. I mean, him being at Raw – he lives in Cameron which is near Raleigh, it’s his area. Him going to Raw is not really a big deal, him posting the video kind of changes it a little bit. His contract with AEW is coming due as well.

"The posting of the video is a bigger deal because then it’s like a slap in the face of your own company in a lot of ways doing that." (h/t TJR Wrestling )
