If in doubt, book The Usos versus The New Day for the Tag Team Titles. The two teams will go down as two of the best in WWE history when all is said and done, and whenever they wrestle each other they make magic. The latest chapter in the storied history between the teams went down at Day 1, and it did not disappoint.
The Usos Are Still Tag Team Champions
The SmackDown Tag Team Title match opened the show. Definitely the right call as it certainly got the sellout Atlanta crowd in the mood for the rest of the night. Especially since Atlanta is Xavier Woods' hometown. While the fans got to cheer for their hometown boy throughout the match, unfortunately, they didn't have anything to celebrate come the end of it.

The Usos did indeed manage to pick up the win, bringing the curtain down on a terrific opening match. However, the manner in which Jimmy and Jey won might well be more newsworthy than the win itself. After Woods broke up the pin following a double Uso Splash on Kofi Kingston, many fans were likely left wondering what move the twins would use to win the match. Either that or New Day was on their way to winning gold yet again.
3D By The Usos
Jimmy and Jey did win, and they used a move fans won't have seen before. Well, actually, it's a move most of you will have seen a lot, it's just the first time The Usos have used it. The pair hit Kingston with a 3D. Yes, the iconic tag team move Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley made famous. Michael Cole even referred to it as the 3D. Pat McAfee then cut in and said this version is called the 1D, presumably in reference to one and done or The Usos' Day 1ish mantra.
Now we wait for the reaction from the creators of the move, The Dudley Boyz. Wrestlers are expected to seek out permission from those who have made a famous before adopting it themselves. Kevin Owens recently did that with Stone Cold's stunner. It seems unlikely that Jimmy and Jey wouldn't have approached The Dudleys before using the 3D on a WWE PPV. We'll likely find out soon as Bully Ray may well have already reacted to it by the time you read this.
