This will likely come as little surprise to fans, especially those who watched Ring of Honors' final big show this past weekend, but the news making the rounds is that The Briscoe Brothers are planning to sign a contract with AEW and begin a feud with FTR.
As per a story on Bleacher Report and an article written by journalist Kevin Burge, "Given that AEW's FTR immediately challenged The Briscoe Brothers at ROH Final Battle after Jay and Mark Briscoe won the ROH Tag Team Championships for the 12th time, it looks like the Briscoes will be joining a loaded AEW tag team division before long." He predicts that the Briscoes will, "sign with AEW as early as their contracts allow."

If AEW adds The Briscoes to an already loaded tag team division, it will easily cement them as the promotion with the greatest tag teams in the industry. Assuming the promotion wasn't already viewed in that light, adding The Briscoes would immediately give AEW a year's worth of new rivalries to build around. From FTR to the Young Bucks, The Lucha Bros. and Santana and Ortiz, the matches that could come out of those feuds would be incredible.
The Briscoes are widely considered the best tag team not in either WWE or AEW and that the duo already has a feud brewing with FTR suggests WWE was ever a serious consideration for the team.
When Will AEW Fans See The Briscoes?
This is big for AEW. The question now is, when can they show up? Jay Lethal left ROH and simply asked for his contract to be terminated before signing with AEW. ROH may have a similar deal in place with The Briscoes and they may not be required to fulfill any specific non-compete or wait until the end of their contract to debut. This has not been confirmed, but if ROH is fine with letting them out of their current deals, they could sign with AEW imminently.
