AEW's Team Taz has rarely been one that is completely free of issues. First the quiet departure of Brian Cage, then the problems between Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks, and finally the attacks by Hobbs on Starks last week. Not to mention Hook winning the FTW Title from Starks moments before. Turns out everything that happened last week was the final straw for the faction's leader.

Team Taz Is No More

As footage of Hobbs' attack on Starks replayed during this week's Dynamite, Taz confirmed that Team Taz is no more. Well, he won't be a part of it, and it would be pretty strange if whatever's left of the group, which doesn't appear to be anything at this point, continued to go by the name Team Taz if the man himself isn't involved.

As the clip came to an end, Taz revealed he didn't know Hobbs was going to attack Starks, he didn't know Starks planned to issue a second open challenge for the FTW Title after beating Danhausen, and he definitely didn't know his son Hook would be champ by the end of the night. Taz was excited in the moment to see his son win a belt he created more than two decades ago, but the group leaving him out of every major decision and imploding last week spelled its end.

"I'm Done With This"

“As of this moment, Team Taz is done... I wish nothing but the best to Hobbs, Starks, and Hook. They're going to do great here, but I'm done with this,” Taz said on commentary. That's right, as far as on-screen stuff, Taz appears to have confirmed he's not only done with Hobbs and Starks, but he will no longer be connected to his son Hook anymore. Obviously behind the scenes that will be different, but as far as AEW TV, the new FTW Champ is on his own.

Taz took to Twitter after the show to further confirm Team Taz is no more, adding that he believes the group had more good times than bad. As for its now former members, the animosity between Hobbs and Starks continued on Dynamite this week. When it comes to Hook, it feels pretty fitting that the group under which he came into the business effectively ended on the same night as he became FTW Champion, and even more fitting that his winning partly led to the group's demise.
