WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will return to company programming during WrestleMania 38 weekend.

The Texas Rattlesnake will meet with Kevin Owens on day one of WrestleMania 38 (Saturday, Apr. 2), which will run at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas — Austin's home state. Two weeks ago, Austin accepted an invitation from the former Universal Champion to appear on "The KO Show."

There was speculation that Austin would actually end a 19-year retirement and face Owens in an actual match at WrestleMania. That won't actually happen, but it definitely sounds as though Austin will be getting physical.

Speaking on Sunday Night’s Main Event (h/t WrestlingNews.co), Dave Meltzer reported that the 57-year-old Austin is "in fantastic shape", and that there will be a physical confrontation with Owens at WRestleMania.

"There’s gonna be a fight. There’s gonna be a brawl, without a doubt," Meltzer said. "It’s not just gonna be just a kick in the gut and stunner. He’s training very hard so it’s gonna be more than that. Will he do a 20 minute match? No, I don’t think so. Will he go 7 minutes or something and have a brawl all over the place? I kind of expect that, yeah."

It has been reported that the Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch Raw Women's Championship match will open WrestleMania Saturday, and that the Austin-Owens segment will close out the evening. The other matches confirmed for WrestleMania Saturday are Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Championship, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs vs. The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, Rey and Dominik Mysterio vs. The Miz and YouTube star Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre vs. Happy Corbin.

There are six confirmed matches on the card for WrestleMania Sunday: Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar in a "Winner Takes All" unified title bout, RK-Bro vs. The Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy for the Raw Tag Team Championships, Carmella and Queen Zelina vs. Naomi and Sasha Banks vs. Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley vs. Shayna Baszler and Natalya for the Women's Tag Team Championships, Johnny Knoxville vs. Sami Zayn, Pat McAfee vs. Austin Theory and Edge vs. AJ Styles.

Austin's Last WWE Appearance

Austin last appeared on WWE programming during the Mar. 16, 2020 episode of Raw in a segment with Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch. This time, Austin is going to meet with Owens in the ring, and it certainly appears as though The Texas Rattlesnake will get physical against the former Universal Champion. Needless to say, Austin and Owens will be highly entertaining must-see TEV.
