WWE Reportedly Under Impression LA Knight Has Reached Peak Of Popularity
Is LA Knight's push towards a world championship officially over? There are reportedly some in WWE who think he's reached his peak.

Rumors had circulated online that WWE felt Knight might be a flash in the pan. His metioric rise among the WWE Universe might not be sustainable and the company was apparently worried about pushing him too fast and too soon and that popularity fading. Knight confirmed that in the interview. He noted:

“There was skepticism at first. Is this really a thing? Is this just going to be a flash in the pan? Is this going to be a flavor of the month? And that’s a thing we had talked about and was even talked about with me.

He added that WWE told him they didn't want to give him the main event run and a possible title shot too soon because the fans might "get over it." His response was, "If that’s the case and I’m not good enough to carry that, cool, let’s go with that." But, he was bit bothered by the optics of maybe never getting that shot. He said, “I understand the idea of wanting to protect me at some point as well. But I have the belief in myself that I could pivot and move and adapt to whatever the situation is. You don’t want to give it to him too soon but if try and not give it to him at all, come on man"

Knight Is Confident In His Ability, Regardless of the Situation

Even if WWE fans were to turn on him, Knight believes he can adapt. He noted, “I feel like I’m better than that. And I don’t mean that in a boisterous way, but I’m confident in what I do. I’m confident in my skills. And at the same time, I want to be able to fail. Because when I fail, I get back up.”

If the buzz he's generating isn't sustainable, he believes he can recreate magic based on everything he's learned how to do over 20 years in the industry. And, if this is something that has lasting appeal, he thinks he can run with the ball if WWE gives it to him.
