Kevin Owens is going all in with the firing angle that happened this week and has reverted his name back to Kevin Steen on Twitter.

Fans were rejoicing on Tuesday night as it was finally announced that WWE cleared Daniel Bryan to return to in-ring action. SmackDown Live was pretty much all about that massive news and Bryan started the show with a terrific promo detailing his battle to be allowed to wrestle again and how much different people have helped him achieve that time, in particular, his wife Brie Bella.

Even though we will likely have to wait until WrestleMania to see Bryan compete again for the first time, we only had to wait a few hours to see him get physical. In the final segment of SmackDown Live, the former World Champion summoned Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to the ring and proceeded to fire them for what they did to Shane McMahon last week. That understandably infuriated the pair so they brutally beat down the GM before taking their leave.

Owens and Zayn are still fired though and WWE is going all in with the angle. The pair's names have been removed from WWE.com and their proposed match at WrestleMania is no longer in the lineup. Owens being ever the professional is getting in on the fun too. Following his firing, the former Universal Champion changed his name back to Kevin Steen, his real name and the one he wrestled under prior to signing for WWE.

That's not all either. Owens has also removed his profile picture for some reason and gone as fire as to change his Twitter handle to @FightSteenFight rather than @FightOwensFight. If he was fired for real though, he would probably change it back to @KillSteenKill. Plus now we're just waiting for El Generico to mysteriously reappear, the luchador that Sami Zayn used to wrestle as during his independent days.

One thing's for certain and that is that this angle needed a serious shaking up. Owens and Shane McMahon have been going back and forth since last summer and it felt like there was nowhere left for them to go. Now there is a clear road to WrestleMania and it feels like it's just a matter of time until Owens and Zayn versus McMahon and Bryan is booked for April 8, 2018, in New Orleans.
