This week's Monday Night Raw was the first show following Saturday's Night of Champions event on Saudi Arabia. Seth Rollins started the show as the new World Heavyweight Champion and things only got chaotic from there. Here are your winners and losers for Raw, May 29, 2023:

Winner: Opening Segment

Seth Rollins started out the show and as one might imagine, the crowd was incredibly hot for him. They gave him a singing ovation and "you deserve it" chants. AJ Styles came out and congratulated Rollins on the win. Judgment Day came out and told Rollins not to get too comfortable as one of them would inevitably take his title. That led to a challenge and a tag match for later in the night.

This was a basic opening, but it had a special feel to it as the crowd brought it up a level. As we would learn later, this segment was just the tip of the iceberg in terms of how hot the live crowd would get.

Winner: Ricochet

The first in-ring action of the night was a really strong Money in the Bank qualifying bout between Ricochet and The Miz. Both men were on their A-Game and The One and Only pulled out an impressive win with an even more impressive Shooting Star Press. Ricochet has been on a bit of a run, but it's interesting that he's getting a sizeable push without Braun Strowman by his side.

To his credit, The Miz was really good here. If all the quality matches are this good, fans are in for some exciting action. Putting Ricochet in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match makes all the sense in the world.

Winner: Stratus and Stark Take Out Lynch

Fans should have high hopes for the duo of Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark. In their first segment as a team, they hit all of their marks and you can tell the mentorship will be good for the Raw rookie and Stratus who has muscle so she doesn't have to wrestle all the time. Meanwhile, Lynch looked like a badass until the numbers game was just a bit too much to handle. This was a smartly booked segment that helped build everyone involved.

Winner/Loser: Indus Sher Defeats More Jobbers

Another squash match for Indus Sher allows WWE to push the tag team as a dominant force, but this is twice now and there are only so many times WWE can rinse and repeat. The next time out, the duo will need to take a step up.

Winner: Imperium, Alpha Academy, and the Tag Champs

Another fun segment, it was clear all three teams involved were having a blast. The crowd was insanely behind Sami Zayn and when Kevin Owens snapped on Imperium for interrupting, the audience ate that up too. They even got a "baldy" chant going for Giovani Vinci.

Alpha Academy came out with Maxxine Dupri officially a part of the group now and challenged Imperium to a tag match with Owens and Zayn at the announce table. The match was great, only outdone by the commentary of the champions. Imperium picked up the win.

Winner: Fatal Four-Way Women's Tag Team Championships

For starters, it was nice to see four teams that actually looked like teams wrestling in the women's tag team division. Ronda Rousey was back, which also brought some star power to the contest. And, it was the marquee star and her teammate Shayna Baszler who ended up taking home the gold. This was a solid match that finally pushes the WWE Women's Tag Team Division in a positive direction. Baszler and Rousey have a chance to finally build something with these belts and hopefully, WWE will take their run seriously because it's Rousey who is one-half of the team holding them.

As for the match, it was quite good. Shotzi slowed things down a touch with a few missed maneuvers, but that wasn't enough to take diminish from what is a very solid step forward in an area where the company needed a boost. Where Bayley and Iyo go from here will be intriguing and if Shotzi and Rodriguez will remain a team will also be a curious thing to watch.

In a match that followed JD McDonagh absolutely destroyed Dolph Ziggler after both men were counted out while fighting outside the ring. McDonagh used the steps as a weapon and stomped on Ziggler twice, trying to send a message to the veteran. This was a good way to sell McDonagh as a dangerous arrival, but there wasn't really a match here to grade.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

It seems odd to call Nakamura an underdog, but going into another Money in the Bank qualifier against Bronson Reed, The King of Strong Style wasn't probably considered the favorite. And, assuming Nakamura had been taking a few pins of late, that he beat Reed clean might be considered a shocker to some fans. Still, this was a huge win for Nakamura who will move on alongside Ricochet to Money in the Bank.

The match was good and the finish, despite the clean loss, protected Reed fairly well. He beat a count out and took two Kinshasa's before finally eating the pin.

Winner/Loser: Rollins and AJ Styles

The main event was the tag match between Judgment Day and SmackDown's Styles who was teaming for one night only with the new World Heavyweight Champion. As expected, Rollins and Styles pulled out the win, Rollins getting the Stomp on Damian Priest for the victory. There wasn't anything wrong with the match. It was fun for the audience and a offered feel-good moment after WWE crowned a new World Champion -- the official tossing Rhea Ripley and Dom Dom out of the ringside era was WWE doubling down in that respect. It was basically their way around having to write a storyline for the week or pick a new challenger for the title. It worked. Next week, one would assume WWE will establish an actual threat for the belt.
