SmackDown 10/22/21

Let's start with Lesnar's most recent suspension. Every generation of pro wrestling has its marquee rivalry. Be it Hulk Hogan vs. Randy. Savage , Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels, or Steve Austin vs. The Rock, there are typically two top dogs in every generation that rival each other. In modern-day WWE, that rivalry is Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar. While Lesnar had the advantage during the early part of their long, storied rivalry, recently, Reigns has had Lesnar's number. Lesnar's frustrations came to a head on the 10/22/21 SmackDown, resulting in a suspension and a hefty "fine" for "The Beast Incarnate."

Why It Happened

As many fans know, Roman Reigns has gotten the best of Brock Lesnar in recent years, although it's been mostly due to outside interference from The Bloodline. In November 2021, Lesnar would taste defeat at the hands of Reigns at Crown Jewel. The following night on SmackDown, Lesnar would be out for revenge.Unfortunately, Reigns and The Bloodline wouldn't be the ones taking the beating. Instead, WWE Official, Adam Pearce would feel the wrath of Lesnar. After indefinitely suspending Lesnar for his ringside rampage, Pearce would suffer an F5. This would lead to a hefty million-dollar storyline fine.

While Brock Lesnar's main rival over the past decade has been Roman Reigns, Reigns isn't the only former Shield member to be a thorn in Lesnar's side. In 2015, Seth Rollins was ascending the WWE card. This would eventually lead Rollins to the top of the WWE food chain, stealing Brock Lesnar's WWE Championship via Money in the Bank cash-in at WrestleMania 31 . The fallout from that wasn't pretty but it wouldn't be Rollins who paid the price. It would ultimately be Lesnar who would be suspended for his out-of-control actions.

Why It Happened

At WrestleMania 31, Brock Lesnar was scheduled to defend the WWE Championship against Roman Reigns. It would be the first in what would be a series of classic matches between the two. Their bout would be interrupted that night, though, by Seth Rollins. "The Architect" would run down to the ring, cash in his Money In The Bank contract, and win the WWE Championship without pinning Lesnar.Naturally, this enraged Lesnar. The following night on Monday Night Raw, an agitated Beast would be on a warpath. Unfortunately for Michael Cole and members of the ring crew, they'd become collateral damage. Cole would even suffer an F5. This would lead to Lesnar being suspended from WWE for the first time since returning in 2012.

UFC 7/15/2016

When Brock Lesnar left WWE in 2004, his future was a bit uncertain. Immediately after leaving, Lesnar tried his hand at professional football. He'd make it to the final cuts for The Minnesota Vikings before being let go. After that, Lesnar fell out of public view for a bit. He'd re-emerge in 2008 though when he signed on for a fight in UFC.Despite losing his first bout against Frank Mir, Lesnar would eventually become a star in UFC. He'd work his way up to becoming the promotion's Heavyweight Champion. Lesnar would leave UFC in 2012 and head back to WWE. In 2016 however, Lesnar would have one last UFC match against Mark Hunt. Although he'd win the match, Lesnar would ultimately be suspended and banned from fighting for a year.

Why It Happened

After losing the UFC Heavyweight Championship to Cain Velasquez in October 2010, Lesnar would have one more bout against Alistair Overeem before leaving UFC. Lesnar would return to WWE in 2012 and dominate his competition like never before. For this, Lesnar would be suspended by the USADA for a year. Lesnar would retire rather than serve the suspension. However, in July 2018, it would be reported that Lesnar had begun the process to re-enter the USADA's drug testing pool . Nothing would come of the news though as Lesnar has never returned to the octagon.

This final entry is likely the one readers will remember the least, considering that it happened over 20 years ago. To paint an accurate picture, In 2002, Brock Lesnar was a wrecking ball, running roughshod through the WWE roster. Shortly after debuting, Lesnar would win the 2002 King Of The Ring tournament , earning a WWE Championship match against The Rock at SummerSlam 2002. At Survivor Series 2002 though, Lesnar would be presented with his toughest challenge yet, The Big Show. Big Show would take more than just the WWE Championship from Lesnar, which would eventually drive Lesnar to get himself suspended.

Why It Happened

One of the keys to Lesnar's success during his rookie year was having Paul Heyman as a manager. In storyline, Heyman was the mastermind strategist who groomed Lesnar and helped him stay so dominant. In real-life, Heyman was the perfect mouthpiece for Lesnar. Heyman would dub Lesnar "The Next Big Thing," and his words would prove to be prophetic. At Survivor Series 2002 however, Heyman would turn on Lesnar, helping The Big Show hand Lesnar his first loss. From there, Heyman would begin managing The Big Show. On the 11/21/2002 SmackDown, an enraged Lesnar would defy SmackDown General Manager, Stephanie McMahon's direct orders and attack The Big Show. As a result, Stephanie decided to suspend Lesnar the following week. The suspension wouldn't last long at all. Lesnar would soon be back with his sights set on Big Show and Heyman.
