WWE departures are commonplace after WrestleMania. However, that's usually because it's the time of year when WWE freshens up its roster by announcing a wave or two of releases. This year, Superstars seem to be considering leaving of their own accord. Whether that be Drew McIntyre who apparently isn't keen on signing a new WWE deal, or Bayley who suggested on Twitter that she is waving goodbye to her current employers.

Damage CTRL Possibly Broken Up

Someone saying goodbye on social media isn't evidence enough that they're leaving their place of employment though, of course. That tweet was compounded by the rest of Damage CTRL coming to the ring for a match on Raw (and getting swiftly beaten), and announcers seemingly going out of their way to make sure they didn't say Bayley's name.

As for the rest of the group, Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer suggested that the quick defeat on Raw may well have been Damage CTRL's swan song. “While not official, there was a belief Damage CTRL was being broken up and a tweet from Bayley indicated that,” Meltzer said this week. The match certainly didn't scream that Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai are Superstars WWE has big plans for, at least not as a team.

The Fate Of Damage CTRL

Whether Damage CTRL is done or not, the fate of all three of its members may well hinge on who is in charge of creative moving forward. Vince McMahon was very much back in the hot seat on Raw, but SmackDown was clearly pieced together by Triple H. More importantly, it wasn't torn apart and rebuilt over and over again by McMahon after it had been pieced together.

While Sky likely has a promising future in WWE regardless of who's in charge, Kai may not if McMahon really is in charge again. Kai was one of the first released Superstars Triple H brought back once he assumed his new role, debuting her with Damage CTRL at SummerSlam mere weeks after McMahon retired. It has also been reported in the past that McMahon shot down the idea of a Bayley-led group.
