CM Punk has taken a thinly-veiled shot at AJ Styles for keeping quiet about racial equality and the Black Lives Matter movement.
The world is a scary and uncertain place right now. It seems crazy that wrestling is still going on, but as has been proven since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, nothing can stop the WWE train, and the AEW train now, for that matter. That doesn't mean the wrestling world is ignoring what is going on in the world right now, though.
Numerous wrestlers have let their feelings known about the protests taking place around the world in the name of racial equality. It has even led to wrestlers within the same company clashing on social media. We say clashing, the specific incident we are referring to involving Jaxson Ryker has been a one-way street up until this point.

As becomes clearer with each passing day, for those with a large audience to which they can relay their thoughts and feelings, saying nothing at all can sometimes be as controversial as saying something their fans might not agree with. CM Punk has thrown some shade at AJ Styles for doing exactly that. It started when Punk tweeted that people are showing their true colors right now, and as painful as it might be, that can result in having to cut some people out of your life.
A fan replied to the tweet calling out Styles for promoting his Mixer and streaming content but not acknowledging the unrest going on around the world right now. They label it a "tough unfollow". Punk then replied to the fan tweeting, "Well. Come on. That one has been obvious for years."
An interesting shot to take from Punk, and one that might have gotten some Styles fans thinking. The timing also couldn't have been better, or worse depending on how you look at it. Daniel Bryan and Styles had a face-to-face on SmackDown this week. During the exchange, Bryan hammered home how he and Styles are very different people with different beliefs. Perhaps Bryan was referring to the time on Talking Smack where he poked fun at Styles for thinking the world is flat, and not the far more serious topic Punk is alluding to.
