AEW started life as a four PPVs per year company. However, as it prepares to turn five, a lot more big shows are being added to its calendar. World's End is one of them as this will be the first time it has ever happened. An event to close out the year not only for AEW but wrestling in general. Likely a bit of an acid test for AEW as not only will it need to convince fans to buy more PPVs throughout the year, but this one is right after Christmas, a time when people typically spend less.

When Is AEW World's End 2023?

Five days after Christmas Day, to be exact, right in that lull between Christmas and New Year when you're not quite sure what to do with yourself. Taking place on December 30, 2023, and kicking off at 8 pm EST, AEW is lucky WWE doesn't run Day One anymore which would have happened two days later. A lack of interest at that time of year might be why WWE decided to can Day One, actually.

How Can I Watch AEW World's End 2023?

Word on the street is the addition of more PPVs to the AEW calendar is per the request of Warners Bros. Discovery. That might hopefully mean AEW PPVs air on HBO Max in the future. That's not the case just yet though. If you want to watch World's End you will need to buy the show through BR Live or Fite TV.

Where Is AEW World's End 2023 Taking Place?

If you're going to do a show at a time of year when most people are home with their family and friends, you need to do it somewhere people will be willing to leave the house to come and watch live wrestling. AEW has definitely done that as the first-ever World's End will emanate live from the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, a hotbed for wrestling fans.

UPDATE: 2023/12/27 11:24 EST BY JOSH COULSON

TNT, TBS, Women's, and FTW Title matches have all been added to the card ahead of the PPV this Saturday.

MJF vs. Samoa Joe

Joe Has Finally Convinced The Champ To Give Him A Shot

mjf vs samoa joe at world's end

Samoa Joe has been nagging MJF for a World Title shot for weeks, even trying to cozy up to the champ and convince him they're friends. MJF didn't fall for that, but he has caved to Joe's incessant requests and will defend the title against him at World's End.

MJF's title reign is really starting to pick up steam, and as much as I like Joe, it would be a real shame to see him lose the title right now. Joe is really going to look foolish if he loses though, relinquishing his ROH TV Title to prove he's all about what MJF currently has.

Christian Cage vs. Adam Copeland

Brothers From Other Mothers

adam copeland vs christian cage at worlds end

Adam Copeland signed with AEW to reunite with his best friend, Christian Cage. Trouble is, Cage isn't interested. He's made new friends. Friends who have helped him remain TNT Champion. In an attempt to avoid their rematch ending with any funny business, their World's End clash will be a no DQ affair.

This match is going to be chaotic. Not only will Copeland and Cage hit harder because they're friends - that's how it usually works in wrestling - but a lot of other people will be involved. Once the bell rings and the dust settles, Copeland will be TNT Champion.

Toni Storm vs. Riho

A Timeless Clash For The Title

toni storm vs riho at worlds end

Toni Storm is doing the best work of her career since becoming the timeless character she currently embodies. What could have been had WWE resisted the urge to boil her down to someone who throws and is hit by cream pies. A fantastic champion, and at World's End, Riho comes for her throne.

Storm's reign isn't going to end on December 30. Despite the raw talent of the first-ever AEW Women's Champion, Riho will not be getting the title back at World's End. The championship will remain timeless.

Julia Hart vs. Abadon

Whoever Loses, Darkness Wins

julia hart vs abadon at world's end

Abadon has been All Elite for far too long without being used in prominent slots. Finally, she has a spotlight, and it couldn't be more perfect. Facing off against Julia Hart, consumed by darkness in an entirely different way, and the TBS Championship is on the line.

This feels like The Undertaker clashing with Bray Wyatt, albeit with lesser-known stars on a smaller stage. The quality of the match itself doesn't matter. I'm interested in the entertainment aspect, the bells and whistles that come with it. Hart wins, and I imagine she does something dastardly to make that happen.

Hook vs. Wheeler Yuta

Defending His Dad's Title

The FTW Title stands for something, and no, I'm not talking about the three-word phrase I can't write here that its letters literally stand for. I'm talking about the reason Taz created the title more than 20 years ago, and now his son Hook continues to epitomize that in AEW.

That's why this match came about by Hook challenging Wheeler Yuta to a match even though he's the champion. I also fully expect Hook's reign as FTW Champion to continue beyond this match and long after World's End.
