It's now less than a week until AEW Fight Forever launches on all platforms, officially marking the fledgling promotion's first full foray into the video game world. Even though Fight Forever isn't technically out yet, some lucky people have been playing it early and revealing details about what fans can expect, including confirmation that Cody Rhodes really is part of its roster.
That Promo Sounds Familiar
Fight Forever has been in development for so long that Rhodes would have been added to the game before he left and returned to WWE. There aren't many people who can boast appearances in two wrestling games from different promotions that launched three months apart. The Rhodes in Fight Forever will naturally be a very AEW version of the character, except there appear to be WWE elements of The American Nightmare included too.

Now, to be fair, AEW Rhodes and WWE Rhodes are very similar. They even have the same entrance music. Kudos to Cody for making that happen. However, Drainmaker has discovered there's even a Rhodes promo in Fight Forever that appears to have been pulled from his time in WWE. Not his first run a decade ago, but something he said very, very recently on Raw.
The Scorpion And The Frog
Drainmaker has shared screenshots from Fight Forever in which Rhodes is telling the tale of the scorpion and the frog. The frog gives the scorpion a ride across the river, the scorpion stings the frog, they both drown, you know the one. It's a very common cautionary tale that has likely been told for centuries, and it's one Rhodes used during a Raw promo recently.
Just in case you've forgotten, you can check out the Rhodes promo above. It seems incredibly coincidental that AEW has Rhodes cutting this exact same promo in Fight Forever, but there are a couple of other explanations outside of the developers thinking it would be funny. It's possible whoever you're using in Road To Elite cuts this promo once you reach a certain point, I've not had the chance to test that out. It's also possible this was an analogy Rhodes used a lot backstage in AEW and it has been included in Fight Forever as a friendly rib on him.
