With WWE 2K24 on the horizon, fans eagerly anticipate the new release which has promised a handful of returning match types, new characters, and more. With WWE and 2K both being such massive companies and having a seemingly unlimited amount of financial support for their yearly titles, hopefully, 2K24 will showcase a few fixes that have been needed since 2K took the reign in 2014.
WWE 2K24: 10 Things We Want From This Year's MyGM Mode
Fans are hoping to see MyGM reach the same heights that GM Mode did back in its prime with WWE 2K24!Some of these fixes have been begged and begged for since the SmackDown vs. Raw series, while a few are a bit newer and came about due to the release of 2K23. So let's jump into what 2K desperately needs to improve to keep their player base as happy as they can possibly be.
8 More Universe Mode Feuds
Feature Options For Multi-Person Feuds
- Currently, Players Can Only Make One-On-One Or Tag Feuds.
- Needs To Feature Six-Person Tag & Higher Feuds.
- Could Also Add More Rival Actions Based On These Feuds.
This has been a problem since 2K took over in 2014 and introduced the rivalry system in 2K14. Players can easily create a feud with two superstars or a tag team, but nothing higher. While not happening constantly, WWE does feature three-person or four-person feuds, such as WrestleMania 39's feuds with Gunther, Drew McIntyre, and Sheamus over the Intercontinental Championship.
While focused on this, other small tweaks can be made such as adding and fixing the rival actions players can use. Some are quite glitchy and often lead to players doing something they didn't plan. Another change to feuds is the constant rematches. Almost every other week, the feud the player created will feature a different match type on the weekly show pitting the two chosen superstars against each other. More variety needs to be implemented.
7 Improving MyGM Mode
Return Some Features From SmackDown Vs. Raw
- Bring Back To The Ability To Trade Talent.
- Add Online Support As Couch Co-op Isn't As Prevalent.
- Other Small Tweaks Like Contract Options Would Help.
To sum up what has already been talked about enough, WWE 2K has a good thing going with MyGM mode, but that doesn't mean the mode is perfect. For example, bringing back a few things from the SmackDown vs. Raw series GM mode could really improve the current iteration.
Things like being able to trade superstars between shows, selecting different contract options for wrestlers, and online multiplayer are three big ones that could give the mode some replayability and a bit more strategy.
6 Not Locking A Superstar's Theme To That Person
Cody Rhodes Is An Example
- Certain Superstars Have Themes That Are Locked To Only Them.
- When Creating An Alternate Attire, The Theme Disappears.
This is a major issue for anyone who loves Cody Rhodes' entrance music, but the song is not an available option for players to use on their own custom characters. It can't be used on anyone that isn't Cody Rhodes, somewhat.
That is said because it also doesn't work for Cody in the case that you are using a custom attire. For some reason, if players choose to play with an alternate attire for Cody Rhodes, he will come to the ring in complete silence. Whatever the reason this limitation was made, at least fixing the alternate attire issue would suffice.
5 Better And More Presentation Options
New Camera Angles Such As The NBA 2K Series
- NBA 2K Has Had Different Camera Angle Options For Quite Sometime.
- The Camera In WWE 2K Is Relatively Stagnant Minus A Few Cuts.
- Give Players The Option To Change Where The Camera Faces.
This has already been addressed but to what extent, fans aren't totally sure just yet. IGN mentioned that "there is now the ability to move the camera during live gameplay, and improvements to the Ramp cameras and Dive cameras". This could mean a few things, but what most fans are hoping for are a few different camera angles, such as what the NBA 2K series has.
WWE 2K24: 10 Matches We Want From This Year's Showcase Mode
Here are a handful of matches that should be featured in WWE 2K24's Showcase mode honoring the 40 years of WrestleMania.Fans will need to wait and see what 2K means with this addition, but either way, improvements, and additions to the camera are much appreciated by the fans.
4 Improve Logo Mapping
Logo Will Blur And Not Fit On Certain Spots
- This Has Been A Problem Since Before 2K Arrived.
- Custom And In-Game Logos Will Blur If Stretched Too Wide.
- Placing Them In Certain Spots Will Also Blur Them.
The odd logo mapping for custom attires or superstars has been something that messes with many creators of the 2K series for quite some time. Placing any kind of logo on a certain spot or attempting to stretch it to fit a certain length, causes it to blur and ruin the image quality.
As shown by the post used, placing a logo on one spot of a character's leg or arm works fine, but sliding it over just a little bit causes it to misshapen and blur. Some creators have fixes for this, such as creating two logos that are half of one, but that also bleeds into the next issues with these games.
3 More Custom Characters Slots
And More Custom Logo Slots As Well
- There Is A Max Number Of Logos Players Can Download.
- The Game Has A Limit Of 100 Downloaded Characters.
- This Limit Has Been A Problem For Years.
Something that fans beg for every single year is the number of downloadable characters to be expanded. Right now, players can only download 100 superstars and this has been a problem forever. The other problem from earlier is the number of logos players can download. Every small detail on a superstar, arena, championship, sign, and possibly referee (as announced in 2K24) downloads a certain number of logos.
This small limit is shared among everything, causing players to have to choose between keeping a certain wrestler, not using a custom arena anymore, and so on. The people spending countless hours adding new content to the game at no cost are severely hindered by those limitations that have been imposed since WWE was on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
2 More Freedom In MyRise
Make It Like A Season Mode And Not A Completely Scripted Story
- Give More Branching Options If Players Lose Matches.
- Additional Voices For Your Custom Superstar.
- Not Always Focusing On Capturing The Same Titles.
Fans are getting a bit tired of the same played-out stories that have been used for the MyRise and Career modes. Almost every story focuses on the player coming up through the Performance Center, starting as a small name on NXT, moving to the main roster, and finally becoming World Champion/Women's Champion.
WWE 2K24's New Match Types And MyGM Updates Revealed
WWE 2K24 will have four new match types and significant changes to MyGM and its other core game modes.Instead, there should be more options if a player loses a match or simply focuses on holding a different title. Having a blockade on the story simply because the player NEEDS to capture the Money in the Bank briefcase makes for a limiting story.
1 Do Not Lock Character Models Behind MyFaction
Have All Character Models In Exhibition/Universe/MyGM
- Multiple Requested Character Models Were Only Featured In MyFaction.
- Names Like Booker T, Hurricane, & Scott Steiner Were Updated.
- These Models Can't Be Used In Other Modes.
2K sees MyFaction as a way to make money after the game and DLC has already been released, meaning this most likely won't be changing anytime soon. It is insane, however, that multiple updated character models or ones that haven't been in a game for quite some time are relegated to being locked behind this paywall.
Even if players do unlock these exclusive models, they can not be used in exhibitions, Universe, or MyGM matches. As long as MyFaction makes 2K even the smallest amount of money, they will stick to doing this practice.
