Being an in-ring performer is only half the job for professional wrestlers. They also have to learn how to act accordingly and make it seem like they genuinely hate their on-screen rivals. But the wrestling business has a lot of egos, which means there are always going to be a handful of superstars that can't stand one another.

Throughout WWE history, many big-time talents had personal issues outside of the ring. Some of these wrestlers were able to make amends and become friends. But on the flipside, some wrestling personalities were never able to move past their beef, and they remain enemies to this day.

10 10. Squashed: Ric Flair & Mick Foley

The Nature Boy made numerous enemies during his WWE career, and one of them included the legendary Mick Foley - who became popular for his willingness to take so many dangerous bumps.

Flair once referred to Foley as a "glorified stuntman," refusing to credit the latter for all those crazy stuns he pulled off. Not only that, but the Nature Boy said "Mick Foley wasn’t a star."

The two superstars have buried the hatchet, and they're now close friends. They later worked together in TNA, and both are now enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame.

9 9. Still Exists: Chris Jericho & Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Orton via technical knockout at the 2016 SummerSlam pay-per-view. Apparently, Chris Jericho believed that Lesnar had seriously injured Orton, not knowing that the match finish was all part of the script.

Jericho and Lesnar engaged in a heated confrontation backstage. In fact, Y2J said they had "a little bit of a brouhaha," and that they exchanged some words in what Jericho called "a face-to-face confrontation." He wouldn't elaborate what happened from there.

And of course, Jericho took a shot at Lesnar and WWE when the Beast Incarnate won the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match this year. No word on if the two ever really made up backstage.

8 8. Squashed: Batista & Booker T

Booker T and Batista were among the top main event stars on SmackDown Live during the Ruthless Aggression Era, but things reached a boiling point in a 2006 incident.

The two superstars took part in a legitimate fistfight, in which Booker T reportedly came out on top. The latter claimed he was doing it for the locker room, and WWE.com even ran a story on their altercation.

But according to Booker T, he and Batista put it behind them and made up like true gentlemen.

7 7. Still Exists: Triple H & CM Punk

CM Punk shocked the wrestling world when he walked out of WWE in Jan. 2014, informing Vince McMahon and Triple H that he was heading home. Nobody knew for sure at the time, but it would mark CM Punk's final night in WWE.

He never showed up for the company again, and WWE formally fired him on his wedding day with A.J. Lee. It was later reported that Punk left for a variety of reasons, including the unhappiness with his pay, and the fact that he never headlined WrestleMania.

Triple H and WWE have stayed away from mentioning CM Punk's name, even though it's common to hear "CM Punk" chants from the crowd. But there are ongoing rumors that Punk could return to the WWE one day, so this beef could be squashed in the near future.

6 6. Squashed: Triple H & Goldberg

Triple H and Goldberg feuded once the former WCW superstar joined the WWE, engaging in a clash for the World Heavyweight Championship on numerous occasions. Of course, many have criticized Triple H over the years for simply burying Goldberg - who left WWE in 2004.

Over the years, Triple H and Goldberg would engage in some trash talk. Triple H once said the following in an interview with SB Nation Atlanta:

"Bill's trying to get into the Hall of Fame. If there's a rumor about him coming back, he probably started it. I've not seen any mention of his name."

Of course, Goldberg returned to the WWE in 2016, and he wrestled sporadically for the company now. The two superstars managed to make amends after spending more than a decade away from each other.

5 5. Still Exists: Alberto Del Rio & Sin Cara

Alberto Del Rio made a handful of enemies while he was in WWE. Triple H and Sin Cara stand out the most, however, although Del Rio and The Game were able to eventually bury the hatchet after his departure from the company. However, Del Rio's feud with Sin Cara was even more heated, and the two haven't made up yet.

One instance saw Del Rio take Sin Cara's mask off during an 2012 episode of Raw, which is considered a huge sign of disrespect - even though it seemed to be a complete accident. Also, Del Rio once called the Sin Cara project "a complete failure."

4 4. Squashed: Hulk Hogan & Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon rolled with Hulk Hogan as "the guy" during the WWE's boom in the '80s. Even though they were widely responsible for the success of the other, the two men had plenty of ups-and-downs in their working relationship.

Hogan left WWE on numerous occasions - including in 1993 before he signed with the rival WCW promotion. McMahon also fired Hogan in 2015 following an audio release of the latter using racial slurs.

But Vince and Hogan have continued to call a truce over the years - including last year when The Hulkster was "reinstated" in the WWE Hall of Fame. Hogan continues to make sporadic appearances for WWE today.

3 3. Still Exists: Bret Hart & Hulk Hogan

Bret Hart's rivalry with Hulk Hogan dates back to WrestleMania IX when The Hulkster apparently refused to put The Hitman over. This explained why Hart lost his World Heavyweight Championship to Yokozuna at the event, only for Hogan to win it moments later.

When Hart joined WCW in 1997, his feud with Hogan continued. And to this day, they remain strong enemies. A couple of months after WWE fired Hogan in 2015, Hart expressed hope that The Hulkster would never return.

Hart even said that Hogan was happy about the death of 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper as it took the media attention away from Hogan's racist comments, though Hogan denied this.

2 2. Squashed: Bret Hart & Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart formed one of the greatest and most storied in-ring wrestling rivalries during the '90s. But the two superstars were also archenemies in real-life, and the two were never afraid to voice their hatred of one another.

Of course, the tension reached a boiling point at the 1997 Survivor Series pay-per-view, where Michaels and Vince McMahon conspired with others to double-cross Hart. And with that, the Montreal Screwjob was born.

However, Michaels and Hart "buried the hatchet" when the latter returned to WWE in 2010. The two have put their beef to rest, and they've both been open in talking about their well-documented feud that changed the wrestling world.

1 1. Still Exists: Vince Russo & Jim Cornette

Former WWE and WCW writer Vince Russo is no stranger to real-life feuds with other wrestling personalities. But his feud with legendary wrestling agent and booker Jim Cornette especially stands out as one of the more well-known real-life feuds in the industry.

Their rivalry has been ongoing for decades, with Russo even a restraining order against Cornette, accusing him of being a stalker. This came after Cornette called out Russo and sought a fight against him.

There's simply no way these two patch things up. The damage has been done time and time again.
