Recently, Randy Orton addressed some issues that he had with NXT talent stemming from some tweets he wrote during TakeOver: In Your House. The Viper has never been one to hold back his thoughts, and his comments sparked some retaliation from members of the black and gold brand.

The online banter could be a brilliant way to lure Orton to NXT so he can compete against some of the best the brand has to offer. With several superstars from the main roster stopping by recently, it wouldn't seem out of the ordinary for The Viper to make an appearance and have a match or two.

10 Oney Lorcan

The Star Destroyer has always turned heads with his tweets, but he recently caught the attention of Triple H and Edge for his hard-hitting affair with Timothy Thatcher. Oney Lorcan only knows how to fight one way, and that's at top speed.

The Viper, though, is much more methodical and can speed up and slow down as he pleases. It could make for a great clash of styles and a tremendous physical fight if the two decided to get in the ring together. They could then tweet about it later.

9 WALTER

While it seems as if the United Kingdom Champion has no desire to compete on the main roster in a full-time capacity, perhaps The Viper can come to him. WALTER has proven he can battle against competitors of all sizes and could be a good match-up for Orton's slower style.

However, Orton would need to be quick to avoid one of WALTER's knife-edge chops, and the United Kingdom Champion would need to be even faster to avoid getting caught with an RKO.

8 Finn Balor

Finn Balor and Randy Orton have crossed paths on the main roster, but The Viper hasn't faced this version of The Prince. The new violent side of Balor has helped revitalize his career and showcase what fans knew he was capable of.

Orton can be as aggressive as anyone on the roster, when he's motivated, as demonstrated recently with both Matt Hardy and Edge. A meeting between the two could be a hard-hitting affair that elevates their aggressive nature to new heights.

7 Cameron Grimes

Cameron Grimes

Despite coming up short in the NXT Breakout tournament, Cameron Grimes has managed to make a name for himself in the brand. With his arrogant swagger, Jack The Ripper hat, and brutal double foot stomp finisher, Grimes has established himself as a dangerous individual.

With both Grimes and Orton enjoying playing mind games, the rivalry between the two could lead to an entertaining game of cat and mouse as they both try to one-up another in brutal fashion.

6 Pete Dunne

While his tag team partner has made his way to the main roster, Pete Dunne will be looking for someone new to fight when he returns to NXT. The Bruiserweight and The Viper share a love for stomping on various bodily joints, and both like to control the pace of matches.

Neither man is opposed to throwing a fist or two when they need to either. Dunne has competed in many match of the year contenders, and a showing against Orton could be a winner.

5 Karrion Kross

Karrion Kross has only had a few showings on the black and gold brand, but fans have been impressed with what they've seen so far. Kross has demonstrated he's more than a cool entrance, as he can become a violent individual once the bell rings.

Orton would be one of the most significant tests of Kross's career. But with his experience outside of WWE and Scarlett Bordeaux in his corner, Kross should have no trouble hanging in the ring with a veteran like The Viper.

4 Roderick Strong

Roderick Strong has already tasted the main roster when he competed at Survivor Series against Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles. With two heavyweight names under his belt already, Randy Orton would be a fantastic third.

Strong has competed in many memorable bouts both within WWE and on the independent scene, so he has plenty of experience fighting against top names like Orton. The question will be if The Viper has enough in the tank to keep up with The Messiah Of The Backbreaker.

3 Adam Cole

Right now, there's no one better in NXT than Adam Cole. The leader of the Undisputed ERA has defeated almost everyone on the roster and some of RAW and SmackDown's top stars. However, he hasn't had the pleasure of stepping foot in the ring with The Viper.

Both men are not only great talkers but can also tell a story in the ring. With Cole running out of competitors to face, it might be time he looks for an opponent like Orton to defend his NXT Championship.

2 Johnny Gargano

No one has been in the main event of a TakeOver more often than Johnny Wrestling. Repeatedly referred to as the heart and soul of NXT, it could be a perfect angle for Orton to slither in and attempt to damage the black and gold brand.

The Viper has a history of burning down houses, manipulating opponents, and punting anyone who gets in his way. Both men also have dark sides, which they can surface when they need to gain an edge over a competitor.

1 Tommaso Ciampa

The seeds have already been planted for a match between Tommaso Ciampa and Randy Orton. The Viper commented on the overuse of leg slaps to mimic the sound of kicks, and Ciampa responded by claiming he uses Randy Orton matches to help his daughter fall asleep.

While Orton has also said that he has a lot of respect for Ciampa, The Viper is more than capable of burying these feelings to face him in a contest and have a leg slapping good time.
