The Attitude Era of WWE offered a lot of classic rivalries like Rock vs. Austin, Triple H vs. Foley, and The Undertaker vs. Kane. But there are also loads of feuds that are less high-profile featuring opponents that seem like they don’t fit together, like the rivalry between the rude and crude D-Generation X crew and the monster known as Kane.

After finishing up with The Undertaker, Kane spent a couple of years involved in DX business, from feuding with them to almost becoming part of the faction. Let’s take a look at their whole history, from tag team title matches all the way to their rekindled rivalry in the 2010s.
10 Kane & Mankind Feuded With The New Age Outlaws For The Tag Titles
In July of 1998, Kane was already a former WWE Champion (albeit briefly) when he teamed with Mankind to capture the World Tag Team Title from D-Generation X’s resident tag team, The New Age Outlaws. Over this initial 13-day run, Mankind and Kane were able to defend against Road Dogg and Billy Gunn in a couple of rematches. The two won the belts a second time for a 20 day run, but the Outlaws won them back at SummerSlam 1998 in a handicap match against Mankind, as Kane had betrayed his own partner.
9 Kane Aligned With Chyna Against DX
In early 1999, Chyna betrayed the DX team by turning on Triple H in favor of aligning with The Corporation, resulting in a partnership with fellow Corporation member Kane. Together, Kane backed up Chyna in the subsequent feud with Triple H leading to the duo getting a win over Triple H and X-Pac at In Your House 27: St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. This wasn’t the only time Kane helped out the corporation: around the same time, Kane helped Shane McMahon take the European Championship from X-Pac in a tag team match with Triple H.
8 Triple H Kicked Kane Out Of The Corporation
Kane’s rivalry with Triple H continued all the way to WrestleMania 15, including an incident where Kane shot a fireball intended for Triple H that hit his own associate Chyna instead. Trips and Kane had a singles match in the middle of the card at ‘Mania, but the match would end in a disqualification win for Kane.

The source of the DQ was actually Chyna, who interfered in the match with a steel chair in Triple H’s favor. As a result, Triple H soon ended up joining the Corporation in the process, ousting Kane from the faction.
7 Kane Formed A Tag Team With X-Pac
After betraying Kane, Triple H and Chyna betrayed a fellow DX member in X-Pac the same night at WrestleMania 15. That evening, X-Pac was attempting to win back the European Championship from Shane McMahon when Trips and Chyna shockingly interfered on McMahon’s behalf. In the aftermath, X-Pac and Kane, both betrayed by the same people, ended up forming a tag team as Kane began to align himself with what was left of D-Generation X and even gained a love interest in Tori.
6 Kane & X-Pac Were Two-Time Tag Team Champions
Kane and X-Pac weren’t just a fun odd couple tag team in the WWE tradition — they also ended up becoming two-time World Tag Team Champions. Their first run kicked off on the 4/5/1999 episode of Raw when they defeated Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett for the belts, holding the belts for 50 days until they dropped them to The Acolytes. A few months later, Kane and X-Pac won the belts back, holding them for an additional 13 days until SummerSlam 1999, when they lost to The Undertaker and The Big Show.
5 X-Pac Turned On Kane
In the fall of 2000, Triple H reunited with X-Pac, Road Dogg, and Billy Gunn to reunite D-Generation X, and all signs pointed to Kane being added to the group as well, given that he was X-Pac’s tag team partner. However, during a match with The Dudley Boyz on SmackDown, X-Pac turned on Kane, attacking his own partner and allowing Bubba Ray and D-Von to pick up the win. To make matters worse, X-Pac told Kane that he was unfit to become a member of DX.
4 X-Pac “Won” Tori In A Match
While X-Pac and Kane were locked in a feud, there was still the matter of Kane’s girlfriend, Tori. In December of 2000, she was forced to take on X-Pac in a match on SmackDown, but in doing so she earned Kane a title shot against The Big Show for the WWE Title.

Unfortunately, that title match carried a big stipulation in addition to the World Title: if Kane lost, Tori would be forced to be with X-Pac on Christmas. Of course, DX interfered in the match, getting Big Show the win.
3 Tori Turned On Kane
While it seemed that nothing serious happened between Tori and X-Pac during Christmas, Tori began to display signs of mental distress that suggested the opposite. This resulted in the feud between X-Pac and Kane continuing, with a major revelation at the end of January 2000. After a beatdown at the hands of D-Generation X, X-Pac shared his experience with Tori on Christmas, claiming that things got extremely friendly between them. Tori basically corroborated the story by kissing X-Pac in front of Kane, betraying her boyfriend and joining DX.
2 Rikishi Joined Kane In His Feud With X-Pac
While one might think all this Kane and X-Pac business would lead to a big singles match between the two men at WrestleMania, that’s not what transpired when it came time for WrestleMania 2000. Rather than a one-on-one bout, the match ended up becoming a tag team affair, with X-Pac and fellow DX member Road Dogg taking on Kane and Rikishi. After X-Pac ate a Tombstone from Kane for a pinfall loss, Tori received Rikishi’s signature Stinkface maneuver as punishment for her betrayal.
1 The Brothers Of Destruction Reunited To Take On DX At Crown Jewel
In 2018, Kane and DX managed to rekindle their rivalry at the Saudi Arabia show Super Show-Down, where Triple H defeated The Undertaker with help from Shawn Michaels. In the post-match, Kane got involved in helping ‘Taker attack Michaels, setting the stage for the subsequent Crown Jewel, where Kane and The Undertaker reunited The Brothers of Destruction while Shawn Michaels came out of retirement to reunite D-Generation X with Triple H. DX ended up getting the win over The Brothers of Destruction in a poorly received half-hour match.
