The highly anticipated AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event may have had to deal with a lot of bumps along the road due to the high number of injuries that have taken place, yet the two promotions still put together a fantastic show in the end. It brought some incredible in-ring work together, and it highlighted the strength of both rosters.

But when it comes to AEW, there were plenty of moments coming out of this show that Tony Khan can piggyback on to make the weekly product even more enjoyable as they then head towards their next PPV.

10 Push FTR vs. The Young Bucks Part. 3

FTR as double champions Cropped

FTR were able to retain their ROH Tag Team Titles while also claiming the IWGP Tag Team Titles at Forbidden Door, which was a huge moment for them. It solidifies the fact that they're arguably the best team in wrestling right now, and it opens up a huge storyline possibility for AEW.

Having them challenge for the AEW Tag Team Championships at All Out is a seemingly obvious match-up for the company to make. It would create a third match between them and The Young Bucks, and considering they have a win each against each other, this would be a huge encounter that could headline the show.

9 Use Taz More

AEW Taz

AEW switched things up with the commentary for Forbidden Door, and that saw Taz have a key role throughout the night which was a great call. He is a fantastic announcer, and while Jim Ross is a legend, it might be a wise idea to switch them up full-time, simply to provide more energy to the shows via Taz.

He has more information about the current crop of talents, while bringing JR in for one-off matches would help to make it feel even more important because of his legendary status.

8 Make The All-Atlantic Championship The Worker's Title

pac aew

Adding the All-Atlantic Championship was something that fans weren't sure was necessary, but one way that the company can make it stand out and feel important would be by having it be a true worker's title. In a similar way to how the Intercontinental Championship used to be, having the title be all about those who can put on five-star classics would be great.

Seeing fast-paced workers such as Matt Sydal and Rey Fenix have a title that they could truly push to compete for would help to make this feel important, and having PAC be the first champion is a great way to possibly start that journey.

7 Focus On Orange Cassidy's Wrestling

Orange Cassidy

Orange Cassidy is a great comedy act that can bring a lot of joy to people, and AEW has utilized him well to this point in time. However, his encounter with Will Ospreay proves that he is one of the best wrestlers in the world as well, because few people can go toe to toe with the New Japan star in the way he did.

While AEW will no doubt still want to see some elements of humor from him with his hands in his pockets, the fact is that it is now time to start truly pushing Cassidy as a professional wrestler for the in-ring abilities that he possesses.

6 Push Claudio Castagnoli

Claudio Castagnoli AEW

Claudio Castagnoli (fka Cesaro) joining AEW is something that everybody wanted to see after he left WWE as he felt like a perfect fit on the roster. However, there have been some former WWE stars that have failed to make much of an impact since making the move due to how they've been booked.

That is something AEW needs to avoid when it comes to Claudio, because he is one of the best in-ring talents around, and with the right push he could be a major name. Having him in the Blackpool Combat Club is a great start, and now it is important to continue in that manner.

5 Don't Let Toni Storm Go To Waste

Toni Storm debut on SmackDown

Toni Storm is another former WWE star that is now part of AEW. While she has been given opportunities, they have all led to losses so far. Storm failed to win the Owen Hart Memorial Cup. And at Forbidden Door, her attempt to become the AEW Women's Champion was unfruitful, which is a problem for her.

It has stunted all of the momentum that she had picked up, and it is important not to completely lose that similarly to Ruby Soho, as Storm is someone that can be used regularly as a top-tier talent in the women's division.

4 Give Adam Cole A Rest

Adam Cole AEW

There have been reports for several weeks now that Adam Cole is not 100%, and he is currently working while being injured, and that was clear to see during the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match.

While the roster is depleted right now due to them having a large number of injuries, that doesn't mean that people need to be pushed to their limits. Cole needs a break right now to heal up. Following the PPV, AEW should give the former NXT Champion some time off.

3 Book Bryan Danielson Vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

Bryan Danielson and Zack Sabre Jr

Seeing Claudio Castagnoli debut in AEW was a cool moment as he replaced the injured Bryan Danielson, but that doesn't take away from the fact that people still want to see that match. It is a dream encounter that fans have wanted for years between two of the best technical workers around.

Even though the Forbidden Door show is in the past, it would be good if AEW continued to push this storyline and made the match take place, potentially at All Out, as it has the potential to steal the show.

2 Don't Book Jericho Vs. Moxley

Jon Moxley AEW World Champion
via AEW

Jon Moxley winning the Interim AEW World Championship was the right call as he is certainly the biggest name in the company, but one thing AEW should avoid is having him feud with Chris Jericho for the title. Right now he is already in a rivalry with Jericho's faction, but it is important Tony Khan doesn't add the title to that.

Jericho is great, but at this point, nobody wants to see him in the World Title picture, therefore AEW should have the Blood & Guts match and then move on, allowing Moxley to start a rivalry with someone completely new.

1 Keep Using The New Japan Stars

hiroshi-tanahashi-feature

AEW cannot bring the same number of New Japan Pro Wrestling stars in as they have been recent, because it would completely overshadow the AEW roster. However, despite that, it would be a great idea to keep using wrestlers from New Japan and maintain this relationship for both companies.

Forbidden Door is the type of event that the company should be pushing to try and make an annual one, providing fans with huge dream matches. But to make them even more important, it would be a great decision for AEW to keep booking the Japanese wrestlers so fans know them more.
